Srinagar, July 7 (KNO) : Dukhtaran-e-Millat on accused the Indian NIA of hijacking the party chairperson, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrani, general secretary, Nahida Nasreen and press secretary, Sofi Fehmeeda from the Srinagar Central jail. The trio, as per a spokesperson, was lodged in Central jail after a court in Islamabad remanded them in judicial custody recently.

“ This morning, the family members of our party leaders went to meet them at the Central jail, however, to their utter shock, the jail authorities informed them that Baaji sahiba and others have been taken to Delhi by NIA,” DeM spokesperson, Rifat Fatima, said in a statement. She said that it was nothing but hijacking as no family member or anyone was informed of this. “ The family members were told that the trio was airlifted to Delhi at around 5 AM in the morning. How can NIA take them to Delhi while they were serving jail term under judicial custody here?” she questioned.

“This is nothing but hijacking. We don’t know if they have been taken to Delhi or somewhere else as no contact has been made with them thus far. This is nothing but extreme and worst use of power as three females were hijacked by a so-called Investigation Agency and not even the family members have been informed,” she added. Rifat said that the party chairperson’s health is critical. “ By forcibly taking her to Delhi in such an ailing means that the Indian government doing everything to harm her,” she added. She said DeM cadres will not remain silent over this brutal abuse of power.

“Any untoward happening with the Baaji Sahiab or the others leaders will have serious repercussions. NIA is being used to muzzle our voices but we will continue to resist the illegal Indian occupation with all our might,” she added.
